Staccato
is managed by a group of Philadelphia-based, experienced managers who established their
sterling reputations
during the explosive IT wave of the 1990s. All of Staccato’s
founding partners trace their roots back to Actium, a very successful consulting
firm during that period. The key to Actium’s success was their 97% customer
satisfaction ratio, in which every Actium employee took tremendous pride. While
the partners carried the secrets of Actium’s earlier prosperity to other
subsequent companies, they also took note of the practices which caused declining
growth at the end of the 1990s.
A primary catalyst for the negative downturn was the “relaxing” of hiring
criteria due to the overwhelming demand in the marketplace for IT
consultants. With revenue and profit as the guiding forces, many firms
responded with a less stringent recruiting filter to meet the rising demand.
The amount of attention paid to customers also relaxed, as IT consulting
firms began to feel that they were firmly implanted in the driver’s seat as
the hottest area of growth in the economy of the 1990s. Paradoxically, this
led to a steep decline in overall revenue growth as customers became
increasingly dissatisfied with the level of overall professional services
being delivered.
Understanding this seismic shift, the founding partners set out to recalibrate
the compass and build a firm with which all regional customers would seek to
strike a relationship, and all local IT consulting professionals would strive
to be associated. You have the commitment of each of these founding partners,
that we will hold true to the principles of integrity
and excellence (which form our North Star), and
no matter what economic conditions prevail, we will
never relax our standards, or take our clients
for granted. |
